Rich in nutrients and anti-oxidants, pomegranate seed oil is both moisturizing and protective to the skin and has anti-ageing properties. It is a rich oil that works best blended with other oils for use in facial and body care products. It also has anti inflammatory properties making it useful in treating minor skin irritations.

CoQ10: fat-soluble substance present in all human cells. It is responsible for cell protection and production of the body’s energy. A handful of studies have shown that coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) may have an effect on skin and the appearance of wrinkles, most notably by reducing UV damage, stimulating healthy collagen production, and reducing sub-stances in damaged skin that wreak havoc on its support structure. The latest research suggests that topical application of CoQ10 has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects.

Red Raspberry Seed Oil: The oil works by creating a lipid barrier that stops skin from losing natural moisture. Retaining moisture helps to keep skin cells looking young and full. Raspberry oil adds hydration, sun protection and nourishing vitamins.

Kalahari Melon Oil: Kalahari melon seed oil is super-rich in linolenic acid; which makes up between 50% and 70% of its entire content. Used on the face, it gets to work unclogging pores and removing excess sebum from the surface of your skin. It makes skin look firmer and the appearance of wrinkles are often reduced. Packed full of antioxidants, and Vitamins A, C and E, it has a hydrating and tightening effect when applied.  It reduces inflammation caused by conditions like acne, as the combination of skin-friendly vitamins have a soothing effect. Kalahari melon seed oil is extremely light and easily absorbed by the skin. The oil can be effective at helping to repair skin damage and scars. Omega-6 and Omega-9 fatty acids aren’t created naturally within the body – so they must be added for their benefit to be realized. These stimulate skin cell growth, prompting regeneration and giving skin a much plumper, fresher appearance.

Camellia Seed Oil: Camellia oil is high in antioxidants and the fat-soluble vitamins A, E and D. It is perfect for dry, ageing, sun damaged or sensitive skins and is gentle enough to be used in baby products.

Daikon Seed Extract: Daikon Seed Extract possesses a very rare blend of C20, C18, and C22 Fatty Acids, which is a driving force behind the oil's hydrating and rejuvenating qualities. Radish Seed Oil is a natural emollient, proving it is equally beneficial for the hair as it is for the skin. The main chemical constituents of Radish Seed Carrier Oil include Vitamin A, Vitamin B6, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Vitamin K, Folic Acid, Zinc, Palmitic Acid, Oleic Acid, Linoleic Acid, Gadoleic Acid, Stearic Acid, and Erucic Acid.

Prickly Pear Fruit Oil:  This carrier oil is high in Omega 6 fatty acids which work on dry skin and help to hydrate and restore moisture. It works on the skin by helping to increase its ability to absorb oils and serum. The fatty acids contained in the oil help to replenish collagen which is an important part of maintaining skin's elasticity. The vitamins E and K in the oil work well on skin that looks tired and dull. These nutrients work on the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, improving the quality of the skin and making it smooth and fresh, without being sticky or greasy. The polyphenols which have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties help alleviate damage from the harsh sun. The main constituents of the prickly pear carrier oil are linoleic acid, oleic acid, naturally occurring carotenoids, Omega-6 fatty acids, vitamin C, and flavonoids.

Açaí Oil: Açaí oil is a stunning green lipid that helps maintain optimal skin balance with its impressive antioxidant content and emollient properties. This oil can effectively restore skin elasticity, minimize the appearance of wrinkles and scarring, protect from oxidative stress, visibly even skin tone, mitigate visible signs of inflammatory conditions like acne, and effectively soothe dry, cracked skin. Açaí is packed with fatty acids, vitamins, minerals, anthocyanins, and polyphenols. Recently, research has shown promise for acaí oil as an inhibitor of melanin biosynthesis (tyrosinase inhibitor). It’s shown effectiveness being used on the treatment of melasma and age spots.

Sea Buckthorn CO2: Sea buckthorn oil contains several compounds that can be beneficial to human health. These include fatty acids, including gamma linolenic acid (omega-6) and palmitoleic acid (omega-7)vitamins, including vitamin C, vitamin A, and vitamin E and antioxidants, such as flavonoids and polyphenols. According to a 2021 review of previous studies, sea buckthorn oil possesses several medicinal properties too. It is antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory.

Black Currant Seed Oil:  Black Currant Seed Oil is packed with rich amounts of fatty acids, Vitamin C and polyphenol phytochemicals, which makes black currant oil a desirable ingredient for skin care. The oil is mainly comprised of essential fatty acids (e.g. γ linolenic acid, linoleic, and linolenic acids). Given its overall lipid content, black currant oil is well-tolerated in oil-based emulsions and proves effective in penetrating the skin’s surface. Subsequently, black currant oil constituents demonstrate their ability to integrate amongst the skin’s membrane barrier, which results in improved water-retention and an overall increase in skin hydration. Secondly, as a source of Vitamin C and phytochemicals, black currant oil contributes antioxidant protection that helps to protect the skin from harmful free radicals present in the environment.

Baobab Oil: Baobab Oil is packed with nutrients and minerals providing a wide range of skin care benefits. It nourishes the epidermis of the skin, the outermost layer of the skin that provides a waterproof barrier and creates our skin tone. This has the effect of softening the skin and giving it greater elasticity. It is used as an effective treatment for stretch marks helping to reduce their appearance. It can also help with a range of skin disorders including eczema, sunspots and psoriasis.

Jojoba Oil: Jojoba oil has the same molecular structure as the natural wax esters in our skin.  As we age the wax ester content in our skin begins to diminish resulting in dry skin and eventually fine lines. Jojoba is the only known plant source of wax esters that can replenish these lost esters, as our skin recognizes jojoba as its own and allows this golden liquid to penetrate deeper into the skin, where it is able to nourish and regenerate skin cells. Jojoba contains vitamins A, D and E and omegas 6 and 9.

Vitamin E: Vitamin E is an antioxidant that’s beneficial in reducing UV damage to skin, softens skin and helps the skin retain moisture

24k Gold: Gold particles have been shown to have antioxidant properties, and therefore it can calm acne related and other skin inflammation, reduce skin redness and protect against free radicals that lead to wrinkles and sun damage.

Rose Water: Rose water is considered as a rich source of antioxidants, which can help strengthen skin cells and regenerate skin tissue and protect the cells in the skin against damage. Rose water also has anti-inflammatory properties, which means it can be put on the skin to soothe the irritation caused by conditions, such as eczema and rosacea.  Rose water acts as an inhibitor against elastase and collagenase, which are both harmful to the skin. This can help soothe the skin and reduce redness, as well as act as an anti-aging product by reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

Hibiscus Extract: Hibiscus extract is good for softening skin as it works like an emollient, it a good antioxidant that firms and tones the skin. This powerful firming agent has a proven calming effect that instantly smooths wrinkles giving a person a youthful, healthy glow.  It also unclogs closed pores and is a good natural remedy for acne.

Oat Extract: Oats are naturally rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants and lipids. Oat extract helps to keep skin hydrated by forming an occlusive layer on the surface that retains water in the skin. It also imparts moisturizing, soothing, conditioning, and nourishing qualities, significantly improving skin dryness and roughness. Oat extract has antioxidant properties due to the presence of different types of phenols including ferulic and caffeic acids. It also contains flavonoids that are strong UVA screens.  Oat extract is suited for all skin types including sensitive and problem skin such as acne, eczema and psoriasis. In a study published on NIH, extracts of colloidal oatmeal were found to induce the expression of genes related to epidermal differentiation, tight junctions and lipid regulation in skin, and provide pH-buffering capacity. Colloidal oatmeal boosted the expression of multiple target genes related to skin barrier and resulted in recovery of barrier damage in an in vitro model of atopic dermatitis. In addition, an investigator-blinded study was performed with 50 healthy female subjects who exhibited bilateral moderate to severe dry skin on their lower legs. Subjects were treated with a colloidal oatmeal skin protectant lotion. Clinically, the colloidal oatmeal lotion showed significant clinical improvements in skin dryness, moisturization, and barrier. Taken together, these results demonstrate that colloidal oatmeal can provide clinically effective benefits for dry and compromised skin by strengthening skin barrier.

Green Tea Extract: Green Tea Extract is known to exhibit effects that help diminish the signs of aging, such as wrinkles and fine lines. It is commonly used as a valuable ingredient in face washes, moisturizers, serums, and other skin care products that work to calm irritation, even out skin discoloration, protect the skin against UV radiation, diminish the appearance of cellulite, soothe redness and swelling, and repair damage. Products enriched with Green Tea Extracts are known to further support skin health by moisturizing, stimulating circulation, and regulating sebum production, thereby exhibiting a positive effect on the complexion’s overall tone, texture, strength, and resilience. It is especially beneficial for skin afflicted with the discomforts associated with acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, and other conditions that are similarly characterized by dryness, itchiness, inflammation, and irritation. Its antimicrobial and astringent properties along with its ability to balance the skin’s oil production and minimize the appearance of enlarged pores make Green Tea Extract ideal for use in products that target acne breakouts. Its exfoliating property helps decrease the appearance and occurrence of blackheads while eliminating dead skin, dirt, bacteria, and other pollutants on the skin’s surface, thus promoting the skin’s rejuvenation and renewal.

Jasmine Absolute: Jasmine Absolute rejuvenating the skin and uplifts the senses. Some of the traditionally reputed benefits of Jasmine in folk medicine include thermogenic, antiseptic, emollient, aphrodisiac, relaxant, and tonic properties as well as extensive use in supporting reproductive health. While there is some scientific support from contemporary studies on the antiseptic value of Jasmine oil, the main benefit of this absolute now lies in its olfactory appeal.  Recently, Jasmine Absolute is known for its aromatherapeutic application as a dually arousing and calming scent, as well as a mood enhancer. In one formal study, inhaling Jasmine oil increased behavioral arousal and resulted in test subjects reporting more positive, energetic, and romantic feelings, while in another study, the scent of Jasmine oil helped to manage symptoms of anxiety, enacting a calming influence on mood. True to its fragrant versatility, context matters for leveraging the power of Jasmine!

Becoming a professional manifestor with Spiritual Alchemy

Posted by Juliana Kuzminova on

We have all heard of the book “The Secret”, that uncovers the truth of our ability to manifest our wishes.  At frecklefarm organics, we have been applying the principles of “The Secret” and Spiritual Alchemy for over a decade, and we wanted to share our experience with the readers on how to become a professional manifestor and take control of your life using those principles.

Spiritual Alchemy is a process of purifying your soul to reach enlightenment, similarly to Alchemy using common metals, such as lead, to put them through a series of purifying processes until they become gold.    A journey that separates the physical from the spiritual only to reunite the two into fully harmonious whole as we come into full alignment with our highest self. The journey involved 7 processes described below.

Calcination

In Alchemy, calcination involves the element of fire and refers to heating a solid to high temperatures, for the purpose of removing impurities.  Spiritually, Calcination burns away the ego’s grip.  It may feel like everything we hold true is being endangered, as if someone pulled the rug right under our feet and we are free-falling through the abyss of the unknown, being torn to fragments, and then being burned to ashes.

Even though this may be painful, this process makes us realize that we have outgrown something that is no longer needed.  This stage allows us to break down our ego to see what is behind the veil.

The key is to surrender to this process, allowing the universe to unveil the lessons so that we allow it to burn away what is no longer serving our us.

Dissolution

Dissolution involves the element of water to support the process of releasing outgrown beliefs.  This stage of transformation is often brought about by hardships in our lives, shocking us out of our complacency.

The idea is to accept and express our emotions caused by trauma and painful events, while detaching from the experience, that triggered them in the past for them to get transmuted.

This is the beginning of spiritual maturity and spiritual awakening process.

Separation

The process of separation involves self-reflection to become aware of our authentic intuition hiding behind the ego.  During this process we feel disappointment and frustration with ourselves and/or others rather than ignoring the issue.

On the flipside, by being in tune with our intuition and our expression allows the Separation process to unfold.  The separation process deepens our understanding and appreciation of our emotions so that we can integrate our intuition into our daily life.

Conjunction

The Conjunction relates to the heart and to the earth, where the spiritual meets the physical and the higher states of consciousness may be unified.

There are fewer fears, and we start seeing our mistakes as necessary lessons for the awakening to occur at the right time. We begin to see the divine timing in everything and that everything happens for a reason.

Putrefaction

During this process we must again faces the ego’s attempt at dominance, however this time our experience is different.  We have a sense of higher force assessing us, that provides the support system needed to have better control over ourselves.

Putrefactions continues until we have “stewed in our own juices” enough to enter Fermentation.

Fermentation

Just as Phoenix rises out of ashes, in Fermentation, a new wisdom may arise, based upon the breaking down of former beliefs.  We may suddenly become aware of why we act and feel a certain way, as old beliefs that no longer serve us fade away.

Distillation

During the process of Distillation, we realize that we are all interconnected.  We become more interested in the greater good of all, rather than in fulfilling our own ego.

A distilled person surrenders to the higher forces and works with the moment of now to tune into their inner self.

Coagulation

As we transform from a caterpillar into a butterfly we embody self-aware, divine co-creators of our collective reality with a full understanding of the interconnection to all there is and that the inner and outer world are not different but a reflection of each other.  We become professional manifestors and co-creators of our own reality.

Marula Oil Benefits for Skin

Posted by Juliana Kuzminova on

What Do Cosmopolitan, Allure and Marie Claire have in common?

Yes, they are all amazing fashion forward beauty magazines, but also they agree on how amazing the benefits of Marula Oil are for the skin. This is the new 'it' oil, and we've got it!!! We know all about the benefits of Marula oil and that's why we use it as a base for our 'prana' and 'blue velvet' face serums along with other 'it' oils such as prickly pear fruit oil, argan oil, black current oil, and many more.  Marula oil is a versatile oil that has an impressive list of benefits and works excellent for all skin types. Yes, even oily, acne prone skin can benefit from this miracle oil.

See for yourself what these major magazines say about this miracle oil...

As described By Marie Claire... “Marula oil is harvested from the nut inside the sweet marula fruit and has been a hallmark skincare cure-all for the Ovambo women in northern Namibia for centuries. Whether used unrefined on its own or as a key ingredient in a more complicated product, it's light in texture, super fast-absorbing, packed with nutrients and fatty acids that fight environmental aggressors, and *amazingly* hydrating.

Basically, it's got everything we want in an oil and then some—marula oil contains 60 percent more antioxidants than other oils, even our beloved Argan. So, what, exactly are all of it's beautifying powers? Here's everything that you need to know:

It works for every skin type: From dry to oily to sensitive skin, it's always naturally soothing, fast-absorbing, and never leaves a greasy residue.

It balances moisture levels: Whether it's used on its own or added to a skin product, a few drops on the face, neck, and décolleté will lock in moisture without leaving a thick residue. Plus, it will fight off free radicals that threaten your complexion. (You can also add a few drops to your foundations so they won't be as drying to the skin.)

It softens: It will leave your skin ultra-smooth to the touch in an instant, but just as importantly, it will help maintain that silky texture by hydrating and reversing the damage that left skin rough in the first place. Miracle worker? We say yes.

It's a total anti-ager: It's chock full of fatty acids and omega oils, as well as Vitamins E and C, which work together to repair free radical damage, like that from the sun exposure or pollution, which accelerate aging. It's been shown to improve skin elasticity and reduce the appearance of fine lines and deep-set wrinkles.

It fights acne, as well as treats blemishes and scars: Thanks to its hydrating and antimicrobial properties, applying it to your problem areas can help reduce the size and appearance of all kinds of blemishes. It can also reduce the appearance of scars and stretch marks."

As described in Cosmopolitan magazine...  "With a natural makeup that comes close to the oils your own body creates, marula oil — harvested in South Africa from the nut inside the marula fruit — plays nicely with your skin, healing and hydrating it without clogging or irritating it. How? It contains a high amount of antioxidants and essential fatty acids like omegas-6 and -9, which do a ton: They protect your skin from environmental aggressors (sun, pollution, wind, etc.) that can cause premature aging, and they absorb deeper and more easily into your skin, since the molecules are much smaller than traditional hydrating oils. (Traditional, thicker oils will sit on top and just lock existing moisture in.)

Scared of oils as an acne sufferer? This oil helps battle breakouts — for real! It's non-comedogenic because it's so high in omega fatty acids and absorbs quickly, so it won't clog your pores. And it can actually heal your blemishes faster (as it hydrates your skin), thanks to its antimicrobial properties that help fight future bacteria."

As described by Allure... "...pretty much everything short of bringing peace to the middle east...it's time to meet the new oil on the block: marula. It has a lot of selling points. It's moisturizing, but it won't clog your pores.

"It's rich in essential fatty acids that mimic those that exist naturally in the outer layer of the skin," says Joshua Zeichner, an assistant professor of dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City.

It also contains the antioxidants, vitamin C, vitamin E and flavonoids.

But the best part? It's a surprisingly non-oily oil: "It's quickly absorbed into the skin without leaving you greasy," says Zeichner."
